Millicent Cowley-Crawford
FY2017 Section Representative

Hi, I am Millicent Cowley-Crawford and I have been a civil engineer both for the State, and in the private sector, since 2000. My practice area is stormwater, which includes planning, design and flood control. I am a working mother of two and I am actively involved at my children’s’ schools. I have been a mentor to twins through a local department of education since 2001 and have had wonderful experiences being involved in their lives. I also love to bake elaborate birthday cakes.
I would like to work with the Mt. Diablo Section because I feel that connectedness allows us to accomplish more and to grow both personally and professionally. SWE is the only place where women in engineering can not only belong, but own the community. This allows us to support each other, mentor each other and affect positive change that can grow our industries.
I’ve been involved in SWE since 2015 and am currently participating in the Region A mentoring program and am excited to get more involved in the Section and the Region.
