Laura Ashley Harris
FY2015 VP of Public Relations

Hi, my name is Laura Harris and I am a recent graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a MS in Engineering with a specialization in Integrated Technology Management.

While in college I was heavily involved with Cal Poly’s SWE section, serving as a Vice President for three years and as the President of the section during this past year. Through these experiences I learned what it means to be a leader and work with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and with a variety of communication styles. In many ways, the friends I made and the experiences I had with SWE made an equally impressive impact on my career choices as the formal education setting.

This summer I started my first full-time job working at Deloitte Consulting as a Workday Integrations Consultant. In my personal time, I enjoy cooking and when I am able to find the supplies enjoy making my own wine.

My goal as Vice President of Public Relations is to centralize and standardize all forms of communications and to grow our sections membership through helping others realize the value of the SWE community.
